Welcome to MEU’s annual Giving Day, a celebration of generosity and impact! As we unite in the spirit of philanthropy, we invite students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends to join us in supporting projects created by each department. Your contributions are not just donations; they are investments in the future of our university and the transformative initiatives that define us. From cutting-edge graphic options to virtual reality equipment, each project represents a unique opportunity to make a difference and propel our institution forward. Together, let’s embrace the power of collective giving and create lasting change that resonates across our campus and beyond.
A cash prize of $2,000 awaits the project that garners the highest number of donors, regardless of the total donation amount. The focus lies not in the monetary value, but in engaging as many contributors as possible. We urge all students to participate, even with modest contributions, and to rally support from their peers and families. Together, let’s ensure the success of our department’s project by mobilizing a broad base of supporters. Together We Change!
MEU’s Biology Department aims to be a leader in Lebanon in giving our students practical, hands-on experiences that will set them up for success. To reach our goal, we need to make upgrades to our laboratories. These include new equipment purchases: a digital microscope camera and display system, additional microscopes, and a gas chromatograph for chemical analysis. We also need some updates to make the labs more functional: shelving, window shades, and an autoclave.
The Department of Business Administration aims to equip classroom UH106 as MEU’s Accounting and Finance Lab. In this classroom, the Department has already installed two TV screens for financial data viewing, and has set up a corner of the classroom as a business lounge.
The next step is to purchase Refinitiv® Eikon with DataStream for Academia. Refinitiv® Eikon is the leading market data platform that delivers a powerful mix of news, analytics and financial content to a desktop. Eikon enables educators to leverage applied learning in the classroom, using real-world data and statistics. Students can become Eikon certified, giving them a leg-up as they transition into the workforce. Refinitiv works one-on-one with professors to integrate Eikon within their existing coursework, to create a stronger curriculum that fosters applied learning.
Eikon is used globally by over 210,000 traders, investment bankers, fund managers, research analysts, treasury managers, bond originators, compliance officers, auditors and back-office staff. We are aiming to fundraise $8,000, to be able to purchase a 1-year license for one terminal.

Our world is becoming increasingly visual, demanding ever more sophisticated visual resources to attract and maintain attention. MEU’s Department of Graphic Design aims to stay at the forefront in offering cutting-edge graphic options for our students—allowing them to compete successfully in an ever-changing market. Our proposal is to add several sophisticated Wacom Cintiq workstations to the Graphic Design department, opening up new design possibilities and greater, more subtle control for new designs and art projects.
The Computer Science Department aims to enhance virtual learning experiences for our students by upgrading our hardware and software infrastructure. The current surge in online education demands more robust systems to support our students learning needs effectively. Our proposed project includes:
1) Upgrading computer systems in our computer labs to ensure smooth operation and better performance during virtual classes.
2) Purchasing software licenses for specialized programming tools and applications, enriching the learning experience for our students.
3) Investing in virtual reality (VR) equipment to facilitate immersive learning experiences and hands-on training in cutting-edge technologies.
The MEU Cafeteria aims to equip itself with modern amenities to enhance the dining experience for our students and visitors. To achieve this goal, we’re planning essential upgrades, including a heated buffet for optimal meal serving temperatures and an efficient entry and exit system for seamless access to the cafeteria.
