Spiritual Wholeness
Spiritual Wholeness is MEU’s theological anchor for the 2026-2029 Strategic Plan: while Intellectual Wholeness builds academic strength, this initiative protects mission and identity.
4 goals: integrate spirituality into student life, strengthen Adventist identity while embracing diversity, institutionalize the Spiritual Master Plan (Come-Connect-Grow-Share), and build a mission-driven culture through strategic partnerships. Each goal carries defined KPIs and accountable owners.
Initiatives
Strategic Goals 7-10
7. Integrate spirituality, wellness, and service across dorms, clubs, and events
KPI: Student participation in the spiritual activities connected to this goal
Target: To have 60% of the students participating in at least one of the activities proposed for this strategic goal during the first year. Increase by 10% each subsequent year. Students (Day and dorm students)
8. Enhance Seventh-day Adventist Christian environment while welcoming students from diverse religious backgrounds and fostering mutual respect and understanding
KPI: Student participation in the spiritual activities offered.
Target: To have 50% of the students participating in at least one of the activities proposed for this strategic goal during the first year. Increase by 10% each subsequent year. Students (Day and dorm students)
9. Integrate the Spiritual Master Plan (Come–Connect–Grow–Share) university-wide
KPI: Activities related to the Spiritual Master Plan that promote synergy with other university departments and foster MEU’s spiritual growth.
Target: Carry out at least three activities for each of the areas of the Spiritual Master Plan (Come–Connect–Grow–Share) during the first year. Four activities in the second year and five in the third year. Academic community (Faculty and Staff, Students)
10. Create a culture of mission and service through partnerships with other church entities
KPI: Number of mission/service activities executed annually with MENAUM, EMR, and TED partners (international, local, and Youth Alive)
Target: 1 international mission trip/year, 2 local mission projects/year (one per semester), 1 Youth Alive activity/year — sustained 2026-2029

Purpose
To create an environment where the presence of Jesus and His values can be known and experienced by everyone connected to MEU. To promote personal fellowship with Christ, strengthen relationships among members of the university community, and develop a sense of mission.
Key Initiatives
- Week of Spiritual Emphasis – WOSE – A special week focused on addressing spiritually relevant themes for the student body. In addition to morning spiritual messages, evening programs will be organized to engage students and the community in social integration activities.
- Students’ Retreat – A spiritual retreat for all students. The purpose is to promote moments of deep spiritual reflection and prepare students’ hearts for Bible study and readiness for baptism.
- Partnership with MENAUM or other regions (e.g. TED) for International Mission Projects. Strategic partnership with MENAUM leadership to implement mission and volunteer activities. Organize a trip during a break or school holiday where students can put into practice the concepts of service and compassion learned in class.
- Partnership with EMR for Local Mission Projects. Strategic partnership with EMR leadership to implement mission and volunteer initiatives. This may take place through projects in Bourj Hamoud or the Winners initiative.
Expected Impact
- Develop a personal relationship with Jesus;
- Strengthen the university’s Christian identity;
- Develop a sense of mission at all levels of the institution.
- Promote activities through which each person can serve others using their gifts and talents;
- Provide opportunities for each person to have a personal spiritual experience.

Implementation Timeline
All the activities mentioned will be held annually, except for the Week of Spiritual Emphasis, which will take place twice a year. These activities are scheduled to be conducted during the 2026, 2027, and 2028 academic Years.
